Cultivation and livestock breeding are the main pursuits and means of livelihood of rural and urban population. The other subsidiary means of occupation of the urban population are basket, mat and shoe making. The skilled labour i.e. masons, carpenters, blacksmiths, and goldsmiths are generally found in the town.
